This wine is meant to express varietal character and regional terroir, positioned here at a more accessible price point compared with their single-vineyard Cabs that price at $125.

While there aren’t detailed public tasting notes readily available specifically for the 2023 vintage of this label yet, here’s what’s consistent with Arnot-Roberts’ approach to this wine and similar Sonoma County Cabernets:

  • Terroir-Driven Focus: Fruit sourced from Sonoma County vineyards chosen for balanced ripeness, moderate alcohol, and expressive fruit.

  • Traditional, Low-Intervention Techniques: Arnot-Roberts favors native yeast fermentation, minimal new oak, and techniques that let site and grape speak before oak influence — similar to their Syrahs and other reds.

  • Structure & Style: Typically, these wines have good balance of fruit, acidity, and tannin, leaning toward a restrained, elegant expression of Cabernet rather than very heavy, high-alcohol style.

55% LICHAU HILL | 45% BEDROCK VINEYARD
This bottling is made from two sites that showcase the hallmark varietal characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon, while yielding softer tannins and medium body, without requiring further cellaring as do our single vineyard Cabernets. To achieve this end we sourced from two incredible Sonoma vineyards: Bedrock and Lichau Hill. The historic Bedrock Vineyard in the heart of the Sonoma Valley is a shining gem that has been growing grapes for over 150 years. The Cabernet is impeccably farmed using organic and regenerative practices. The beautiful Lichau Hill Vineyard is planted southwest of Bedrock, high on the western flank of Sonoma Mountain, overlooking the Petaluma Gap. This extremely rocky and cool site is strewn with chunks of extruded volcanic rock and is exposed to the constant cooling breezes blowing in through the Petaluma Gap to the West. The final blend is strikingly aromatic and refined, with a concentrated core of red and blue fruits. This wine will drink well on release and will also improve for years to come with proper storage.

2023 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County (13%)
The two vineyards were harvested, destemmed, and fermented separately with native yeast before being aged in 9 neutral French oak barrels for 20 months. Harvest Date: 10/13, 10/24, 11/1.
