Château Smith Haut Lafitte, located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, is renowned for producing elegant and nuanced wines. The 2019 Le Petit Haut Lafitte, a second wine of the estate, showcases the vineyard's exceptional terroir and winemaking expertise. This vintage is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, delivering a potent and brooding character with notes of gravel, crushed rocks, blackberry jam, and lavender. Violets and dark fruit complement a full-bodied structure with firm, chewy tannins, offering a polished yet intense finish. An ash-like undertone adds complexity, making it a serious wine that will benefit from some bottle aging.
Composition: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot. The vineyard features vines averaging 11 years in age, cultivated in organic agriculture.
Winemaking: Fermentation and vinification processes are meticulously carried out to enhance the wine's natural flavors and structure.
Aging: The wine is aged to perfection, allowing its complex flavors to integrate and develop over time.
