Raptor Ridge's Estate Vineyard was planted between 2000 and 2007 on an east-southeast-facing slope in the Laurelwood District, about 25 miles southwest of Portland. Sitting at elevations of 250 to 498 feet, the 18-acre vineyard is rooted in deep loess-based Laurelwood soils and planted to several Pinot Noir clones along with Grüner Veltliner. Owned by Scott and Annie Shull, the vineyard was included in the Laurelwood District AVA when it was established in 2019, and additional drainage improvements completed in 2022 have further enhanced vineyard uniformity and ripening.

The estate is one of only a handful of Grüner Veltliner vineyards in North America, reflecting Scott Shull's early belief that the Austrian variety could thrive in Oregon after an unforgettable pairing of Thai cuisine and Grüner while traveling. Today, Raptor Ridge's Estate Grüner has become one of the winery's signature wines, combining vibrant citrus, orchard fruit, mineral freshness, and Grüner's hallmark white pepper spice with a richer, more textured palate. It is an exceptionally versatile food wine, pairing beautifully with seafood, pork, chicken, and spicy Asian cuisine.
