The palate has a good, suave opening, flows along, has light “up” powder tannins that are well in place. Technicals:  90% mid-1990s Syrah, 10-15% Viognier, 50% from Le Plomb (1988-2003, Syrah & Viognier, gives the heart), 30% from Fourvier (1993-2003, Syrah, a little Viognier, gives complexity), 20% Arzelie (2005-2007 between Le Plomb and Les Grandes Places, schist soils, very floral, feminine) northern sector, schist soils, 30% destemmed (down from 75% until 2015), wild yeasts, 18-21 day concrete vat vinification, twice daily pumping overs, cap punching by leg work, aged 30% new, 70% 1-10 year 600-litre old oak casks 20 months, unfined, unfiltered, called Les 3 Brunes since 2020, Reviniscence before 2020, 8-10,000 b

  • Fermentation lasts 18 to 22 days, pump-overs occur twice daily
