The 2025 Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Rosa-ae is wickedly fresh—rose petals and lavender give way to crushed strawberries and violet candies. This is a total pleasure on the palate, round and energetic with vivid raspberry and blueberry tones underscored by crisp minerality. The long, spry finish leaves hints of citrus and a saline inflection. The 2025 is a more vibrant and lively Rosa-ae with a slightly paler color than usual.

The Torre dei Beati portfolio excels from top to bottom, with one of the best entry-level Montepulcianos in the market as well as complex, ageworthy single-vineyard wines. The white wines here are always both approachable and complex. The 2023 vintage marks the third release of the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Diverto, another impressive edition of this white. The Diverto is sourced from sandy soils just four kilometers from the coast in Francavilla al Mare at an elevation of 100 meters. You can almost taste the sea air in this shining example of terroir and variety. The 2023s will be extremely limited, with only a small amount of Mazzamurello. Two thousand twenty-four was even worse; while Trebbiano did well, Torre dei Beati lost around 60% of their Pecorino and 70% of their Montepulciano. Having seen the vines suffering firsthand in 2024, I’m amazed that there will be any red wine at all. Luckily, 2025 was a huge success, with quantities back to normal and exceptionally high quality across the board. If the Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Rosa-ae is any indication, I expect the 2025 Montepulcianos to be stellar.
This is a wine made by 2 methods of pressing: part direct-press and part saignee. I did not get to try this one but it sounds fantastic!
At our estate this is the first Montepulciano expression of a vintage and the first indicator of its quality. Extremely careful selection in the vineyard and on the sorting table. A wine enriched by fresh flavors due to low-temperature fermentation, giving further proof of the flexibility of Montepulciano. - Winery
