Sourced from a large three-hectare vineyard in the plateau between Courgis and Beines, Moreau-Naudet’s 2023 Petit Chablis exhibits notes of peach, orange zest and honeysuckle. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and textural yet bright, with lively acidity. Virginie Moreau notes that the site was affected by hail in April and May, but that does not seem to have altered its aromatic range.

Clay and Portlandian Limestone. Single 6 acres South-West oriented parcel, 2.5 hectares of young vines. This wine is made with the same level of care that the rest of the wines are. Yields are low. Fermentation is with indigenous yeast, then aged for 14 months in stainless steel before bottling.

Note: This mineral-driven Chablis is everything you want out of Chardonnay from northern Burgundy: it’s crisp, it’s thirst-quenching, and it’s absolutely delicious when paired with a variety of foods. Notes of underripe stone fruit, lemon zest, and salty chalk dominate the wine’s acid-driven palate. This bottle seriously over-delivers for the price.
