Prior vintage review: The 2023 Sancerre Les Belles Vignes is floral with a distinctive elderflower character meeting apple and citrus-like acidity. It is tender on the mid-palate and offers a gently textured finish with refreshment. This will be best enjoyed in its youth for its aromatics. Drinking Window 2024 - 2027
"Les Belle Vignes" has become a benchmark Sancerre...a blend of grapes from vineyards spanning eight communes of the Sancerre appellation. Nestled in the heart of the Verdigny village. The soils are a mix of the three great terroir soils Kimmeridgean, limestone and Silex. Classic.
Winemaking: Fermentations are at low temperatures are 3-4 weeks long in large steel tanks co-fermenting the terroirs. Then the wine is aged on fine lees for 6-8 months in steel tank prior to bottling.
A beautiful med+ nose and palate of citrus, gooseberry and chalk, a medium weight Sancerre that carries into a med+ refreshing and rich finish. - Our Note
The nose is sustained and asserted on lemony aromas accompanied by blackcurrant bud notes. The first sensations in the palate reveal a subtle and rich aromatic array, with a refined and silky ‘lemon-sorbet’ texture. - Winery
