Wine Critic Reviews
The Wine Palate (90): Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes bounding out with exuberant notes of juicy red and black plums and cassis, plus suggestions of potpourri and cinnamon stick. The medium to full-bodied palate is soft, bright, and refreshing with pure red berry and mineral layers on the finish.
Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider (93): The wine displays a depth of flavor equal to many Classified Growths. Layers of black currants, blackberries, mint, and an array of spices are all over the place here. Texturally, the wine is rich, creamy, and supple, with loads of sweet, dark red fruits, and a touch of salt in the finish. This is a good example of a baby Leoville Las Cases.
Falstaff (94): Dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, brightening on the edge. Fine herbal savouriness, dark wild berries, blackberries and some liquorice, tobacco, mineral notes. Medium complexity, red confit, fresh acidity, light-footed, delicate style, red berries on the finish.
Vinum Wine Magazine (16): Especially juicy and crisp; full of temperament, with good length, with crisp tannins; never been so balanced, already fun to enjoy young and can still mature.
Wine Maniacs (92): Very high salinity, with lots of spiciness. Linear structure, silky tannin with some freshness on the finish. Fairly long.
Adrian van Velsen - vvWine.ch (91): Subtle and ripe fruity, with a whole basket of dark berries, some cassis juice and a hint of raspberries is a wonderful fruit bouquet. On the palate with power and a fresh backbone, crisp fruit, distinctive tannin, the wine has race and shows finesse despite a certain opulence. In the finish with a rather red fruity aroma and dried mint.
