The Wine Palate (97): The 2022 Avoyelles Red Blend Oakville Ranch Vineyard is a 55% Cabernet Franc and 45% Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Deep garnet-purple colored, it comes bounding out with bold notes of crème de cassis and preserved plums, followed by hints of black olives, bay leaves, and incense. The full-bodied palate is tightly wound with red and black fruit layers, supported by firm, grainy tannins and bags of freshness, finishing long and fragrant.
