93-95 Vinous Media – Neil Martin
Drinking Window 2027 - 2052 The 2023 Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru is a level-up from the Les Porusots. By Roulot's own admission, the vines were planted in 1942 but not in the best location. It has real intensity and drive on the nose, with quite prominent sea spray scents coming through, like shucked oyster shells on a cold wintry day. The palate is very well balanced, with a slightly creamy texture on the entry counterbalanced by a fine bead of acidity. It has outstanding precision on the finish that feels very long. - By Neal Martin on November 2024
92-94 Wine Advocate – William Kelley
The 2023 Meursault 1er Cru Charmes is one of the more reductive wines in the range this year, unwinding in the glass with notes of pear, white flowers and toasted almonds, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and compact palate with good depth and chalky grip.
