Billecart-Salmon Le Rose Vintage 2015
Billecart-Salmon Le Rose Vintage 2015
95 pts Cameron Douglas MS (Master of Wine)
A deliciously enticing bouquet filled with scents elegance and promise, light-red berry fruits and a gentle spice overlaid with rose and and mineral. The autolysis is expressive and precise adding complexity and power. Even more delicious on the palate with a fine even mousse adding its own force and mouthfeel. Flavours from the autolysis and fruit reveal a mix of baked goods, cherry and red apple. Excellent weight and richness with a lengthy complex finish. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2029.
Instead of releasing an Elizabeth Salmon in 2015, they decided to make it a straight vintage rose, so this is pretty much the same wine as the below 2012 but is ready to drink sooner and becomes a nice deal price wise in comparison! This has a slightly higher dosage (still extra brut), ages less on the lees and bottle of course.
