The 2022 Altocedro Cabernet Sauvignon "Reserva" from Mendoza, Argentina, is a testament to the unique terroir of the Uco Valley. Nestled in the cool climate of El Cepillo, this wine showcases a classic and traditional varietal typicity, bringing forth a savory profile. Experience the rich bouquet of dark fruits like plum, blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry, enhanced by earthy minerality, anise, leather, tobacco, and a substantial, chewy texture. Midway, the wine's acidity kicks in, leading to a long, dry finish.
Composition: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Sourced from original old vine rootstocks. Soil type: Alluvial.
Winemaking: Fermented in small concrete vats using indigenous yeasts.
Aging: Aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
Wine Enthusiast (91): The nose displays sweet notes of ripe black fruit. After a few minutes in the glass, the well-structured palate offers licorice, dark cherries and blackberries, with hints of oak spice.
