A Cuvée name may very well be added to the Coteaux Bourguignons designation. Little grapes from degenerate vines, making low yields which barely cover their costs. Almost a heady raspberry on the nose, fruit at the front and then a little more tannic behind. Drink from 2026-2028. Tasted Nov 2024.

Anne Gros brings her precision and elegance to this approachable yet characterful red from the Coteaux Bourguignons appellation. Sourced from old vines, the wine shows both the charm of Burgundy’s everyday drinking style and the finesse of a skilled winemaker.

Terroir:
The fruit is drawn from old-vine parcels on clay-limestone soils in the Hautes-Côtes. These sites bring together Gamay’s juicy red fruit with Pinot Noir’s elegance, while the limestone bedrock adds freshness and lift. The old vines, with their deep roots, contribute concentration and balance to the final wine.

Tasting Notes:
The 2023 Vieilles Vignes shows a bright ruby hue with expressive aromas of wild raspberry, red currant, violet, and a hint of black pepper. On the palate, it is lively and silky, with flavors of crunchy cherry, cranberry, and subtle earth. The texture is supple yet energetic, with polished tannins and a clean, refreshing finish. Charming and versatile, this is a red that pairs beautifully with roast chicken, charcuterie, or a simple weeknight pasta.
