Christian Clerget Chambolle-Musigny 2022
Christian Clerget Chambolle-Musigny 2022
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village has an attractive bouquet of bright, well-defined red berry fruit, sous-bois and rose petal. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins; there’s a sense of vibrancy and tension here, with a very well-controlled and persistent finish. This is worth seeking out. Vineyard: 2 hectares. This wine comes from seven small plots: Les Athets, Les Babillères, Les Herbues, Les Nazoires, Les Bussières, Les Croix, and Les Condemenes. They are located down from Chambolle-Musigny, with shallow limestone soil.
Planted in: between 1975 and 1980
Maturation: 18 months in new oak barrels for 10%, the rest in barrels 1-2 years use. The wine is racked upon completion of secondary fermentation. When mature, barrels containing the same variety of wine are blended in a single vat using a racking process. Domaine bottled without it being clarified or filtered in any way.
The wine’s characteristics: Complex, rich and romantic, an elegant wine characterised by red berries. A splendid wine that is silky smooth in its younger years, yet also ages well, appealing to those who appreciate wines with more developed aromas. Ripe, dark berry nose. Black fruit with a rich, velvety center. Some herbal notes. Nice grip on the finish.
