The 2018 Château du Vallier from Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux is a fine example of Bordeaux winemaking. This vintage showcases a lovely ruby color with dark violet reflections and offers a spicy, rich, and woody nose. The palate is generous and structured, perfectly balancing richness with elegance, making it an excellent companion to red meats and game dishes.
Composition: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Malbec.
Winemaking: Traditional fermentation methods were employed to capture the essence of the terroir.
Aging: The wine is aged in oak barrels, enhancing its complexity and depth.
Andreas Larsson - Tasted (90): Inky dark purple colour. The nose offers red and dark berries blended with some fresh herbs like sage and mint with fine oak. Good density on the palate, nice toast and mocha flavours, ripe tannin, ambitious and well-made with fine persistency.
Wine Enthusiast (91): The quality of the vintage shows in this wood-aged wine. Rich black fruits and still-young tannins are combining to give the potential of richness. Jammy Merlot along with Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec will come together well and the wine should be ready from 2021.
