From the pioneering Adrianna Vineyard at nearly 5,000 feet elevation in Mendoza's Gualtallary district, this exceptional Chardonnay represents Nicolás Catena's revolutionary vision of high-altitude viticulture. The vineyard's calcareous soils with limestone deposits create the perfect terroir for producing a Chardonnay of remarkable minerality and elegance. This wine showcases bright citrus notes, stone fruit flavors, and a distinctive mineral backbone that reflects the unique limestone-rich terroir.

Composition: 100% Chardonnay from vines planted at 4,900 feet elevation
Calcareous soils with limestone deposits and white stones
Winemaking: Hand-harvested grapes undergo careful selection and gentle pressing
Aging: Aged in French oak barrels to enhance complexity while preserving varietal character

Wine Critic Reviews

Patricio Tapia - Descorchados (95): From a sector of the Adrianna Vineyard planted in 1996 on the chalky soils of Gualtallary. Some 2,500 liters of this wine were made from the 2.5-hectare block, which has a layer of sand atop another of calcareous stone. Barrel-fermented and aged in oak for about a year, half of it under a veil of flor. There’s something saline here, of course, which could come from that process, but it also has the lush fruit that’s classic in this wine. Deliciously creamy with very deep peach flavors and a subtle herbal finish.
