The 2023 Heritage Reserve Estate Pinot Noir from Coeur de Terre vineyards is a celebration of the original plantings, featuring Renelle's Block, Sarah Jane's Block, Abby's Block, and Tallulah's Run. This wine beautifully balances the unique terroir and viticulture philosophy of Coeur de Terre. In the glass, it reveals depth with bright earthy tones and black fruit notes, characteristic of the McMinnville AVA within the larger Willamette Valley. As it evolves, spices like coriander, cardamom, and Indian sweet spices take center stage, complemented by blackberry and wild black cherry on the palate.
Composition: 100% Pinot Noir. Vine age and soil type contribute to the wine's complexity.
Winemaking: The fermentation process is meticulously managed to capture the essence of each block.
Aging: Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months to enhance its rich, layered profile.
James Suckling (90): Bright and spicy on the nose with ripe cherries, pomegranates, chocolate and dried citrus peel. Medium-bodied with vivid acidity that forms the backbone of the wine, finishing lively and tense.
