Drink 2026-2032. Tasted as a preview and set to be bottled very soon, the 2024 Rosso Di Montalcino pours a bright ruby hue and is fruity and primary on the nose, with fresh red berries, cherries, and lovely purity of fruit. Selected from larger clusters from the sunset side of the vines, it naturally carries a gentler tannin density, and the palate is juicy and bright, with refreshing acidity, tangerine-tinged lift, and a mouthwatering finish. It’s already highly appealing and should drink well with a short rest in bottle. Barrel Sample: 90-92

My Tasting Note (Tom)
Med ruby red color.  The nose is pronounced, fresh, red cherry, raspberry, blackberry, subtle purple florals, subtle spices, and minerality. The palate is medium bodied, med/med+ acidity and subtle fine tannins. Persistent and fresh on the palate, with a long, fresh finish. Excellent!

100% Sangiovese Grosso
Vineyard: Grapes come from three vineyards—of 17, 27 and 34 years old—covering a total of 7 hectares with northern exposure. The yield was 45 quintals of grapes per hectare.
Harvest: Grapes are selected and harvested manually and placed in small baskets to be quickly destemmed and crushed and transferred by gravity into cement and steel fermenters.
Winemaking: Using only indigenous yeasts in a fermentation of 20 days on the skins at a maximum of 29°C. During fermentation, the wine was pumped over and the cap punched down following delestage techniques that respect the nature of each vintage.
Maturation: After fermentation and maceration, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation before being racked into Slavonian oak barrels with an average capacity of 20 hectoliters. The wine was aged for 11 months in barrels and then 2 months in cement before being bottled in December. Bottles are stored at constant temperature and humidity control.
