It opens on a dark-fruited register with blackberry, a leafy nuance, hints of blackberry jam and finely judged oak. Very fine, velvety tannins on the palate find seamless support from delicate wood, giving the wine a sense of polish and depth. Rich yet refined, it should gain further nuance with bottle age while remaining anchored in its black-fruited core.
