Grape: 100% Barbera
Vineyard: From Colli Tortonesi in S.E. Piemonte, no pesticides or herbicides in the vineyard. 12 hectares total planted at 984 ft. ASL in limestone and clay. Vines are 10-35 years old.
Fermentation & elevage: Between 12-20 day maceration on skins depending on grapes; one month slow fermentation in cement tanks, with a slight battonage of lees to stimulate native yeast and keep the ‘cappello’ (cap) wet
2021 Our Tasting Note
Deep red, with vibrant red edges. The nose is pronounced, with boisterous red cherry, cinnamon, some clove, some red licorice notes also add some fun complexity. The palate is medium bodied and easy going as Barbera is alway low tannin and low acidity so this goes down silky and easy. Med+ intensity on the palate this sails into a Med+, juicy and fun finish.
