Aged aromas of old spice and cured meat emerge from the nose of this nicely concentrated ripasso. The wine has power and determination, yet the mouthfeel is compact and elegant. Pair this wine with barbecue chicken wings or drumsticks.

VINES. Corvina, Rondinella and Oseleta.

PRODUCTION AREA. Valpantena (Verona).

SOIL CHARACTERISTICS. Calcareous with high organic substances. Rich in potassium, calcium and magnesium.

VINE TRAINING TECHNIQUES. Guyot and Sloped Pergola Veronese.

HARVEST PERIOD. September, with selection in plateaux of the best grapes.

DRYING. In drying loft at low temperature and controlled humidity.

VINIFICATION. Grape destemming and crushing, addition of selected yeasts.

FERMENTATION. Maceration in steel vats at 20°C.

AGEING. 36 months in local own winery.

ORGANOLEPTIC CHARACTERISTICS. Ruby red colour with violet reflections, hints of sour black cherry, vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon. Balanced, warm, perfect tannin content.

FOOD PAIRING. Boiled and grilled meat, cheese.

RECOMMENDED TYPICAL DISH. A selection of cheeses from Monte Veronese and Cimbro.

IDEAL SERVING TEMPERATURE. 16°C.

2019 – Best Vintages of Amarone della Valpolicella
Climatic Trends:
The 2019 vintage of Amarone della Valpolicella experienced a cool and rainy spring, followed by a warm summer. Phenological dates were slightly delayed, but grape maturation benefited from good spring water supply and temperature fluctuations in late August. Harvest took place in mid-September, slightly later than 2018 but in line with historical averages. In summary, a fairly rainy vintage with positive grape maturation despite some delays.
Amarone della Valpolicella Wines of 2019:
Analytical data: The analytics show a high concentration of anthocyanins and polyphenols. All wines stand out for complexity, refined aromas, and a well-balanced structure. The acidity contributes to a harmonious balance with a significant alcohol component. Undoubtedly, one of the best vintages for Amarone della Valpolicella, offering aging potential and perfect balance.
