Our Tasting Note: The 2022 took the longest to come around last weekend and is what should happen at this age and require decanting for several hours if you can't wait on a few in the cellar.  It's all there, you just need some patience.   Here is what the 2021 was like in its glory open for a day+ with Marcel: Med straw-gold, slight flecks of green color. Pronounced orange, lemon and lime citrus fruits and peels, citrus florals, green apple, bosc pear, and a very strong mineral core. A clear example of the dominant, superior character of Les Clos. A med+ verging into intense palate, plenty of structural acidity, lots of harmony of the young tasting elements. Long and complex finish. The real deal here, majorly good!
*A 2021 last year was much better than a Raveneau 2017 Blanchot we had later at lunch.

The Grand Cru of all Chablis wines. Francois’ personal parcel is located in the heart of this famous vineyard, just above the prominent nut tree. This great location helps Francois make one of the very best Les Clos wines.

With its 26 hectares, Les Clos is by far the largest Climat in the Chablis Grand Cru appellation. It stretches over its hillside, from top to bottom, enjoying a southwest exposure. This exceptional terroir is therefore bathed in sunshine from noon to evening. This perfect sun exposure, combined with a relatively steep slope, provides ideal ripening conditions. Because of its size, Les Clos’ soil is multi-faceted: towards the top, stones and limestone become more prevalent, whereas towards the bottom, on the contrary, it gets deeper and more clayey.
