The 2021 Frappato is a deeply expressive yet still lively expression, with hints of tangerine giving way to sour cherries and a mix of rose and violet florals. It’s softly textured yet full of citrus-derived tension and perfumed throughout, like liquid flowers offset by a spicy wave of blood orange. The vineyards in Contrada Biddine Soprana and Contrada Biddine Sottana are located in low-lying soil at roughly 100 meters above sea level. The soil is black, relatively compact and riddled with white stones. The soil structure makes it possible for roots to oxygenate freely, extending down deep into the ground. The company produces a red wine here, Frappato, which draws complex perfumes and a decent acidity from the characteristics of the terrain. - winery

- Spontaneous fermentation occurs in steel tanks with indigenous yeasts
- Maceration for Frappato lasts 5 days and Nero d’Avola lasts up to 12 days
- Aged for one year in barrel and 500 liter tonneaux, which are in service for seven years, about 14% on average is new wood
