It's rare to find a GREAT viognier at such a low price. Like all of our most affordable wines, they overdeliver with a LOT of wine for the money. Stone fruits, mandarins, honeysuckle, this aromatic grape delivers a textbook version in this wine, with one thing a lot of the Condrieu and new word wines lack, ACIDTY! It has the oily texture with a nice beam of acidity, just enough for perfect integration.

Village: Saint Marcel d’Ardeche, 45 miles northwest of Avignon. The area is rich with ancient ruins, including vestiges of a Roman outpost

Soils: An elevated plateau of drift boulders of limestone at 380 meters
Quantity: 680 cases for the US

Vinification: Native yeasts. Harvested entirely by hand. Very short contact time between crush and pressing. Full malolactic fermentation as the Viognier ferments slowly and coolly under 60°F in concrete. Brief maturation in stainless steel.
