Its story begins with Alphonse Dezat and his wife Joséphine, great-grandparents of current proprietor Aurore Dezat. Originally a mixed farm with livestock, grain fields, and a few vineyard parcels, it was under the care of their son, Marcel, that the viticultural focus began to grow. Marcel expanded the vineyard holdings, including planting the lieu-dit Les Chasseignes—one of the family’s first plots and now among Sancerre’s most celebrated sites.

The third generation, Denis Dezat and his brother Claude, further increased vineyard plantings and gradually shifted the farm’s activities away from livestock toward dedicated winemaking.

In 2011, Aurore Dezat assumed leadership of the domaine, joined in 2016 by her husband, David Girard. Bringing extensive expertise in organic and biodynamic viticulture, David has guided the estate toward full organic certification, set to be achieved in 2023.

Today, Aurore and David farm 9.5 hectares within the Sancerre appellation: 8.11 hectares planted to Sauvignon Blanc and 1.39 hectares to Pinot Noir.
