Wine Critic Reviews

Patricio Tapia - Descorchados (98): As usual, White Stones is somewhat riper and more succulent than its sibling White Bones, but we like that ripeness, especially for how it contrasts with a sharp, intense acidity, very much like a mountain wine: a kind of lemon drops in the middle of the cream. It is a white with deep flavors that, in this warm year in Uco, has achieved an excellent version. For White Stones, winemaker Alejandro Vigil selects plots from the Adrianna vineyard in Gualtallary, north of the Uco Valley and above 1,400 meters in altitude. It is, more than anything, a selection of soils that favors those rich in gravel covered with lime, a typical characteristic of the alluvial soils of the place. The wine is aged for one year in barrels, some of which develop a veil of flor.
