The entry-level red 2018 Paso de Cebra Garnacha has a bright red ruby color and an expressive nose of red berries, wild herbs and flowers, subtle and aromatic. The palate is medium-bodied and the tannins fine grained. It's very tasty and vibrant and finishes long and dry. This is ripe without excess and has a low pH of 3.25, which translates to a sensation of freshness. 2018 was a vintage of great potential but with some challenges. Here, he mixes grapes from one vineyard on slate soils at 850 meters in the zone known as La Movida and four on granite in different parts of the Cebreros village at 750 to 850 meters in altitude, a total of 4.3 hectares whose grapes fermented with indigenous yeasts in plastic bins after being foot trodden and pressed. It matured in used 225-liter oak barrels for 10 months, keeping the vineyards separated until the end when they decide the blend that rests in stainless steel until bottling. There is lovely rusticity here and tons of character, reflecting the poor soils from the zone. I liked this very much and enjoyed a bottle with dinner. Bravo! 5,600 bottles produced.
