'Lydien' is the expressive of Régnault's cuvées and is characterized by its openness and energy. A broad and generous Champagne with an excellent saline depth. Produced in a limited edition of just 2,650 bottles.

Our Tasting Note (#80): Tight and tiny bubbles, thick mousse, light lemon color. The aromas and flavors here took a solid 2.5 hours to really open up.  At first it was very compact and tight, mostly lemon citrus and loads of chalk grew into more generous and open layers of fuji apple and asian pear, barely a sign of the tertiary lees aging, the predominant notes are fruit and minerality, though some yeasty notes appear in the background, well integrated. Medium bodied, med+ acidity, med+ flavor intensity once it got in the zone. Energetic, linear, this clearly did not see malo. A contemplative champagne with deep complexity that needs a few years in the cellar, or open 3 hours before hand, or decant as that might get you there faster.
