Made from estate vineyards in San Vicente, the village and subregion at the heart of the La Rioja Alta region where Contador, Vega-Sicilia-Rothschild, Remelluri, and AbelMendoza, among many other great producers, source many of the grapes for their wines. Grapes come from mixed age young to old vines, but all picked at very low yields. 36 months in used American oak, and during this time it is racked six times from cask to cask, racking it off the sediments by gravity. It then usually spends another 18 months rounding off in the bottle.
