Altocedro Ano Malbec 2023
Altocedro Ano Malbec 2023
Altocedro’s Ano Cero Malbec is a quintessential representation of Mendoza's winemaking excellence. Nestled in the prime location of La Consulta in the Uco Valley, this Malbec is a festival of aromas featuring blackberry compote, cherry, lilac, violet, lavender, and spice. The mouthfeel is vibrant with dark fruit and savory herbs, complemented by gentle tannins and a lengthy finish.
Composition: 100% Malbec from Mendoza. Vine age and soil type harness the region's stark diurnal temperature variation and alluvial soils.
Winemaking: Fermentation in small century-old concrete vats to preserve purity.
Aging: Aged in French oak for added richness.
Wine Critic Reviews
Patricio Tapia - Descorchados (92): The grapes for this wine come from vineyards that are an average of 40 years old, all from La Consulta, especially from stony soils on the south-east bank of the Tunuyán River, in the Uco Valley. This is a red wine with a delicious fruity expression, very fresh and juicy, with floral and herbal tones. The tannins are firm and accompanied by acidity that vibrates in the mouth. This is an example of a modern malbec, tense and hard, with a slight sweetness that gives it charm.
