The Serradenari cru in la Morra, the most western and highest altitude village in Barolo, is home to the highest vineyards in the Barolo appellation. Incredible panoramic views are everywhere you look of the Langhe hills that look like pyramids made out of vines, while the snowcapped Alps ring the horizon west to northeast. This sandier-soil parcel of Serradenari produces Barolo wines that are supple, fine grained, highly aromatic with spices, floral peony and rose petal notes that marry with the red currants and cherry notes, and a mineral spine.

Vineyard Cru: 100% Serradenari cru in La Morra
Exposure: Southwest at 520 meters (1509ft)
Soils: Tortonian with clayey loam soil with a strong presence of calcareous marl with a sub-alkaline PH
Winemaking:  Spontaneous fermentation (with some 40 days of maceration) in 60-HL truncated cone-shaped wooden vats.
Maturation: 30 months in 25-HL Slavonian botti

2018. the 2019 is not yet scored: 93 points Robert Parker WA
From a vineyard site in La Morra, the 2018 Barolo Serradenari boasts a very bright and lifted bouquet that is colored by tart raspberry, wild blueberry, exotic spice and hints of campfire ash. La Morra is recognized for its fine and silky tannins, and this vintage delivers those with a little more emphasis.
