I  have wanted to offer these incredible wines from Chidaine for a while, the problem was his production was really small over the 2020 and 2021 harvests so our importer received such a small allocation we had to wait for more from the 2022 vintage to boost the offering.  Fear not though, we have the amazing 2020 Choisilles we just tasted available (plus some 2022 - if interested please ask).

The Choisilles was open for most of the day when we got to try it last Friday late afternoon and it was superb, I followed up with a few sips on Saturday night and then the rest on Monday and the wine did not budge and it was only resealed with it's cork each time.  THAT is very impressive and a sign of a very good wine and excellent winemaking!  The Choisilles 2020 is a Chenin fan's dream OR if you like Rhone whites but just wish they had (more) acidity. If you love Huet Vouvrays but wish it was accessible younger this is a wine for you!  Medium+ bodied, the wine is dry with a couple grams of sugar, and loads of fresh green apples and fresh pears, a touch of lanolin, hay, and honeycomb, with the minerality and freshness the grape is so well known for...pure, textural, long, this was a LOT of fun to drink!
