Wine Critic Reviews
Owen Bargreen (92): The 2023 ‘Sonoma Coast’ Chardonnay delivers sea salt dusted peach and pear flavors that combine with nutty and flinty undertones on the palate. Medium to full-bodied, with good verve, enjoy now and over the next eight to ten years.
Owen Bargreen (94): The 2022 Sojourn Cellars ‘Sonoma Coast’ Chardonnay comes from several sites in this windswept AVA that neighbors the Pacific Ocean. On the nose this takes on peach and saline drenched pear notes alongside brioche and salted Macadamia nut. The palate is plush and soft with a refined texture, and great sense of elegance. Finishing exceedingly long with vanilla cream and salted melon fruits, this is an outstanding 2022 bottling that will provide drinking enjoyment over the next eight plus years to come.
Wine Enthusiast (94): This rich and oaky wine is also well-balanced, complex and layered. Seductive aromas of apple tart, vanilla and lemon zest lead to a buttery palate of cream, toasted almonds and poached pears. A full body is backed by subtle acidity and a fresh apple vein that keeps it lively.
Wine Review Online (93): Intense ripe apple, pear, peach, Meyer lemon aromas and flavors with subtle notes of vanilla are rounded in the mouth and lifted by bright, crisp acidity for a long, lingering finish. Grapes for this elegant Chardonnay were sourced from three different vineyards; Durell, Sangiacomo, and Gap’s Crown.
