"Saturated violet. A fragrant bouquet evokes dark berries, cherry and pungent flowers, along with hints of botanical herbs and black pepper. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering bitter cherry, black raspberry, candied violet and spicecake flavors, plus a touch of palate-numbing cracked pepper. Puts on weight with air and finishes very long and spicy, with repeating florality and steadily building tannins."

(casks) deep, full, black-tinted robe; the nose is firm, has tight, closely channelled black berry, blueberry fruits, nudges of violet, perfume. The palate stands up straight based on cool black fruit, is young, carries a good frame for the future. The dark, smoky content is prolonged, a little wired, and there are pockets of Cornas mineral-tension in the closing stages. It’s a coherent, stylish Cornas which can show well within three years.
