The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva is showing well today. All the textural intensity of the year comes through in this concentrated, full-bodied Riserva. Cedar, tobacco, licorice, dried herbs and incense fill out the layers. Our tasting note: Ruby red core, lighter ruby edges. A classic nose of dusty red cherry, red raspberry, tobacco, spice, wild flowers, and fresh mineral notes. The palate is medium bodied, with subtle and fine tannins, fresh acidity, med+ flavor intensity and purity, with a med+ to long, pure finish.

Farming:  Practicing Organic
Vineyard: Sourced from the top vineyard sites in the vinatge in the southeast corner of Castelnuovo Berardenga.
Aspect:  Altitude of 300m in elevation with mostly southern exposures.
Soils:  Alluvial soil with pebbles and a mixture of limestone, clay, and sand.
Winemaking: Natural fermentation with native yeast in stainless steel tanks for 12-14 days.
Aging: Aged in large Slavonian oak for 24-36 months.
