Wine Critic Reviews

Patricio Tapia - Descorchados (94): Sapo de Otro Pozo (toad from another pond) is among the most original names in the Argentine wine scene, and it makes reference to the winery’s owner, José Millán, who only recently began to get involved with fine wine in 2009. Until then he had owned supermarkets, but this “toad jumped ponds” and got into Argentine wine as an outsider, although little by little he has become so integrated that he is now a reference. Based on malbec from two zones in the Uco Valley, Los Árboles and Los Chacayes, this blend of varieties results in an intense, fresh, delicious, and tense red wine you won’t want to stop drinking.
