Gismondi on Wine (89): This crianza tempranillo comes off 75 hectares of vineyards located in Rioja Alta, near the Ebro River. It was native fermented in wooden vats before 14 months' aging in new French and American oak barrels for 10 months. Sweetly perfumed cherries, lead to a compact palate of tobacco, black cherry, wild blackberry, and kirsch. Tannins are ample and gnarly at this young age, easily supporting and spicing this well constructed wine to a amply spiced finish. Best suited to grilled lamb and / or root veg. (Treve Ring).
