Viognier 65-80% own crop (rising) late 2000s-early 2010s from Saint-Michel, Vérin, Pélussin (350 m, 1.5 ha own vineyards, very aromatic wines), granite & mica soils, 20-35% purchased crop Viognier (Sarras, Charnas, Vérin, largely granite soils), fermented for 5-6 weeks in 85% 1-6 year old 228-litre oak casks (35% new casks dropped since late 2010s), 15% large barrel 10 months, malo completed

****(*) JLL steady yellow colour; the bouquet has an overtly grapey aroma, with a table wax, peach-quince fruit backing, cooked lemon present. The palate caries a Viognier oiliness, is very well centred on wholesome richness, has real good heart, and prolongs with a sure hand, lovely refinement on the second half. It’s a table over aperitif wine, classy in its field, with a nudge of tannic grip on the close. It will sail along with a wide variety of dishes. 19,000 b. 2028 May 2023
