il Glicine 2021

The vineyard called Il Glicine extends over 1 hectare in the Sassella sub-zone at 350 metres, in the commune of Sondrio. Glicine is the Italian word for wisteria; and this colourful plant clings to the rocky crags that dominate the entire plot.
Grapes: 100% Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca)
Trellising: Guyot
Sub-Region: Sassella, II Glicine vineyard. The vineyard is situated bit 47Om asl in the east part of the municipality of Sondrio, south exposure
Soils: Sandy (7o%), silty (3o%) with an acidic pH
Harvest: hand picked usually in the second half of October.
Winemaking: Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks; malolactic fermentation and aging for 12 months in 30 HI neutral, large oak casks and 500L oak barrels (tonneau)
