Alma Rosa Pinot Noir El Jabali 2023
Winery Tasting Notes
Alma Rosa’s El Jabali estate, originally planted in 1983 by Richard Sanford, spans 47 acres across five non-contiguous sites. The 2023 Pinot Noir shows bright ruby color with aromas of raspberries, cherries and rose petals. Vibrant red fruit is layered with Earl Grey tea and floral notes, supported by a mineral backbone and chalky tannins, creating structure, length and elegance.

Featuring a dominant percentage of clone 943 and its tiny, intensely flavored berries, the 2023 Pinot Noir El Jabalí is among the more exotic and structural wines in the range. Dark, brooding and spice-laden on the nose, it has a bouquet framed by a generous amount of high-quality new wood that is noticeable yet neatly woven into the wine's fabric. The palate is similarly deep, suave and concentrated, as it effortlessly concludes with a focused, chalky and expansive finish framed with assertive tannins that remain graceful and nuanced.
