The name Királyudvar means “King’s Court”— a fitting title for a winery that once supplied Tokaji wines to Hungary’s royal court as early as the 11th century. The estate originally began with 10 hectares around Mád and Bodrogkeresztúr. Since then, it has expanded to approximately 75 hectares across six premier vineyards: Lapis, Henye, Percze, Becsek, Danczka, and Nyulászó. These vineyards include high terraces (like Lapis) and grand cru sites (such as Henye), giving the wines their distinctive sense of place.  Királyudvar is certified biodynamic, a step beyond organic, sometimes incorporating lunar and planetary rhythms in vineyard work—a nod to holistic, terroir-driven winemaking. This is a masterclass in dry Furmint: expressive yet refined, showcasing a compelling interplay of bright citrus, crystalline minerality, and floral nuance. Its structure provides both immediate freshness and aging potential, making it ideal for both food pairing and solo sipping. In essence, Királyudvar beautifully bridges centuries—reclaiming its royal heritage while pioneering new directions for Tokaji wines.
