We reserved the whole space to ourselves (photo above) for this event at Lakeside Kitchen, in Raleigh.

We'll lead you on a vinous tour of the Willamette Valley.   Violin Wines specializes elegant and balanced Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley.    If you are looking for something that balances the fruit and ripeness of the new world and the style of great Burgundy (more freshness, less sweet, savory, and earth tones) this is a brand to stick with.

Style wise Violin Wines really nail the elegant side of these grapes that show the typical character of the grape and the site coming through (think Walter Scott in style so you know they are killer).  The whites veer right into the Chablis/Chassagne-Montrachet style spectrum with taught and filigreed textures, fresh, mineral, saline, with citrus fruit and zests.  The pinots are bright, high-toned ruby-inflected Pinot with notes of earth and savory mixed with fresh red berry fruits.
